PROPERTY HISTORY 1867-1972 The first Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception was designed by Brooklyn architect Patrick C. Keely. This Gothic Revival building stood for more than a century, until it was destroyed by fire in March 1972. 1977-Present The second Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception was designed by Manhattan architect Edward Larrabee Barnes and Vermont landscape architect Daniel Urban Kiley. The cathedral closed in 2018, and today the modernist building and landscape at 20 Pine Street await a new use.
